The true magic of our craft happens at The Forge. Our 100,000 square foot facility marries traditional blacksmithing techniques with never-before-seen product ideas to produce one-of-a-kind pieces just for you.

 

THE ARTISANS

The Forge would just be an empty building without the creativity and skill of our master blacksmiths. Get to know each of our artisans below.

 

Rick

Shear Department Manager

  • Managing iron art since 2017.

  • Born in Escalon, California and raised in Fox, Arkansas.

  • Rick holds a bachelor's in human performance and fitness training.

  • When he’s not in the forge, Rick enjoys collecting knives and edged weaponry.

Dennis

Blacksmith

  • Creating iron art since 1993.

  • Born and raised in Newport, Arkansas.

  • Dennis’s mom was an artist, and his dad was a musician. He’s been featured in several newspapers for blacksmithing.

  • When he’s not in the forge, Dennis enjoys reading his Bible, praying, etching glass, wood burning and arrow head hunting.

Chris

Blacksmith

  • Creating iron art since 1995.

  • Born and raised in Mountain View, Arkansas.

  • Chris is a fourth generation blacksmith. He’s hoping his son will make the fifth!

  • When he’s not in the forge, Chris enjoys playing guitar, fishing for white bass, and mushroom hunting with this daughter.

Daniel

Blacksmith, Wood Carver & Finish Artisan

  • Creating iron art since 1989.

  • Born in Alabama, but grew up all over the world in a military family.

  • Daniel’s great grandfather was also a blacksmith.

  • When he’s not in the forge, Daniel enjoys photography, making knives, and spending time with his family.

Mark

Research & Development

  • Creating iron art since 2017.

  • Born and raised in Clinton, Iowa.

  • Mark has a fascination with hand tools and built his entire cabin with no electricity.

  • When he’s not in the forge, Mark enjoys Rat Rods, Harleys, fishing, art, and spending time with his family.

Dominic

Blacksmith

  • Creating iron art since 2012.

  • Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas.

  • Dominic’s curls are all natural.

  • When he’s not in the forge, Dominic enjoys the outdoors and a good joke.

Jerry

Blacksmith

  • Creating iron art since 2013.

  • Born and raised in Mountain View, Arkansas.

  • Jerry is a third generation blacksmith and the oldest smith at Urban Forge--over 60 and still swinging!

  • When he’s not in the forge, Jerry enjoys carpentry, 4-wheeling, and spending time with his wife, his boys, and his grandkids.

Sean

Blacksmith

  • Creating iron art since 1992.

  • Born and raised in Southern California.

  • Sean never thought he’d be a blacksmith!

  • When he’s not in the forge, Sean enjoys spending time with his family, art forging, 4-wheeling, and guns.

Ash

Blacksmith

  • Creating iron art since 2018.

  • Born in Orange, Texas and raised in Central Arkansas.

  • Ash spent several years as a fitter/welder and inspector for AFCO Steel.

  • When he’s not in the forge, Ash enjoys concerts, music festivals, traveling, camping, and anything outdoors.

Sue

Packaging, Finishing, Wiring

  • Finishing iron art since 1992.

  • Born in Batesville, Arkansas and raised in Fifty-Six, Arkansas.

  • Sue is lovingly referred to as Mama Sue in the forge, and her favorite food is fried chicken.

  • When she’s not in the forge, Sue enjoys spending time with her family, quilting, gardening, and embroidery.

Brandt

Painter, Finisher

  • Finishing iron art since 2017.

  • Born and raised in Mountain View, Arkansas.

  • Brant is a cattle rancher on the side.

  • When he’s not in the forge, Brant enjoys hunting.

Evelyn

Upholstery

  • Upholstering iron art since 1992.

  • Born in Marshall, Arkansas raised in Thola, Arkansas.

  • Evelyn lived in Tennessee for 40 years. She has 2 sons and 7 grandchildren.

  • When she’s not in the forge, Evelyn enjoys traveling and sewing.

Robert

Fabrication

  • Creating iron art since 2018.

  • Born and raised in Houston, Texas.

  • Robert is married, has 4 dogs, 2 pet pigs, and is learning to juggle.

  • When he’s not in the forge, Robert enjoys reading, studying the Bible, and listening to good music.
