Production Engineer

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

This position is fully in-person at our Mountain View, AR facility. Local candidates and those willing to relocate are encouraged to apply. Remote work is not available for this role.

ABOUT URBAN FORGE

Urban Forge is not the average company. We are artisans and builders in the Ozark Mountains who craft heirloom-quality iron furniture and decor by hand, and we bring that same pride in craft to how we run our operations. We are growing fast, investing in new technology, and looking for people who want to be part of building something that lasts.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a hands-on Production Engineer who thrives where design meets the shop floor. This is not a desk job. You will be designing jigs, fixtures, and tooling in CAD one hour and testing them at the bench the next. Your work will directly shape how efficiently and consistently our team builds products every single day.

This role is ideal for someone who gets genuine satisfaction from solving practical problems, loves making good processes great, and wants their fingerprints on how a growing shop operates.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Design, build, and iterate on jigs, fixtures, and tooling that make fabrication and assembly faster, safer, and more repeatable.
  • Use CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) to model parts and assemblies for in-house production use.
  • Embed yourself with production and fabrication teams to spot bottlenecks and engineer practical solutions, fast.
  • Lead prototype development and drive continuous improvement projects from concept through implementation.
  • Own the quality and performance of your designs. If it is not working on the floor, you will know it and fix it.
  • Own the integration of new machining and fabrication technologies as Urban Forge grows. We are actively expanding our capabilities: CNC tube lasers, CNC brake press operations, mandrel tube benders, and more. This role will be central to bringing those capabilities in-house and making them run well.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Hands-on experience in metal fabrication, welding, or tool building. You are comfortable and capable in a shop environment.
  • Familiarity with CNC and machining equipment. Experience with CNC plasma cutters, CNC tube benders, CNC routers, 3D printers, or similar technology is a strong plus. Comfort learning new machines quickly is a must.
  • CAD proficiency (1+ year preferred; exceptional mechanical intuition can offset formal experience).
  • A mechanical mind that naturally asks why does this take so long and how could this be better.
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership, while staying collaborative with the team.
  • A bias toward action: you prototype, test, learn, and improve. Quickly.

WHY URBAN FORGE

  • 3-Day Weekends, every single week. Urban Forge runs a 4-day work week, which means every Friday is yours. Most companies talk about work-life balance. We actually build it into the schedule.
  • Real impact from day one. Your designs will hit the production floor, not a drawer.
  • A front-row seat to vertical integration. As we bring more advanced machining capabilities in-house, you will own that process from equipment selection through production readiness.
  • A culture built on craftsmanship, care, and continuous improvement. Artisan made. Guaranteed forever. That standard applies to how we treat our team too.
  • Competitive pay ($70,000 to $85,000), profit sharing, paid time off, and employee discounts.

YOUR GROWTH PATH

This is not a seat to fill. This is a role to grow into something bigger.

Urban Forge is a growing company, and we are intentional about building from within. The right person in this role will take on increasing ownership of our production engineering, our machine capabilities, and eventually our people. As your responsibilities expand, so will your title and your compensation. We believe that when the company wins because of your work, you should win too. That is what profit sharing is about, and it is how we think about advancement.

Five years from now, the person who takes this role could be leading our engineering, research, and development operations. If that kind of trajectory excites you, we want to hear from you.

Ready to build something great?

Apply today. We would love to see what you have built.

Benefits:

  • Employee discount
  • Paid time off
